Tankeshwar Kumar (born 17 October 1963)[1] is an Indian physicist and academic. He is currently serving as the Vice-Chancellor of Central University of Haryana.[2] He has also served as Vice Chancellor of Guru Jambeshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar.[3][4] His research work has h-index 25 and has more than 2400 citations.[5] He was elected to the National Academy of Sciences, India in 2015.[6]
Kumar was born on October 17, 1963 in Yamunanagar, Haryana.[7] He completed his B.Sc in Physics, Chemistry, Maths from Kurukshetra University in 1983 and went on to earn his M.Sc in Physics from Panjab University, Chandigarh in 1985.[8] He received his Ph.D. in Theoretical Solid State Physics from Panjab University in 1990.[1] He also held a Post Doctoral Fellowship at the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Trieste, Italy, in 1991.[9]
