Какой вид счетов узнал бы первый человек, записавший это слово в 1387 году в Англии? Это был бы просто римский или греческий счет? Как долго Европа (и постколумбовая Америка) использовали счеты? Я не думаю, что я видел их в фильмах столетней давности; они уже существовали до современных недорогих калькуляторов? Единственный счет в статье, который не связан с определенной культурой, — это счет для школьников, и в детстве я помню, как мне говорили, что они были упрощены по сравнению с настоящими. Аналогично, я считаю, что счеты долгое время были очень важны для Ближнего Востока, и, согласно lede, до сих пор используются в Африке. Если у кого-то есть информация (и источники), чтобы заполнить некоторые из этих пробелов, это очень помогло бы статье!
